Ken, thank you for the compliments, I try to do my best. FB messenger is the more convenient means of communication, as it's more or less instantaneous...if you don't mind. We'll chat, OK? Finished up this little girl today, so obviously still at it. '98 Hewes 20' Bayfisher, general wire cleanup, no...

Ken, our fearless leader asked me to reply to your post, I'm more involved in our FB group, so not around here much anymore. I do boat re-wires and installations for a living, was in the OEM business for almost 20 years. Your '98 175 Osprey I most likely saw being built, as the 175/200 Osprey line w...

"Well under the helm"...what kind of well? Or is it just a compartment inside the door behind the helm? Does it have a drain at the aft end? Have you tried feeding a snake into that drain? Like Bruce said, pics are REAL helpful. I know the earlier model 215 DC, but I believe yours is diffe...

Follow the instructions about dialing in your guage, you can get really accurate fuel burn numbers. Ask Bruce, you'll throttle off the Floscan over the tach...

Any of you, ever use a 5510 with a 201 Senser cruisemaster flow scan. I pick a new one up today, still in its sealed box for $50 . I thought it was a good buy. Was it? Walt, you picked up a helluva deal there! NIB, that unit went for $400+ before it was discontinued. Don't remember if the sensor ca...

Zuke 150's aren't wide, they are inline 4's. Where you got that info, I don't know. Way, WAY narrower than any V6, about the same as a Yam 150 4S. And at 27" centers, you'll be fine. 25" shafts are what we used on all 225 and 245/250 Osprey twin installs.

All is good...

The Zuke SMIS gauges are the same as Evinrude I-Command, a significant upgrade over standard analogs. NMEA 2K system, obviously gives you a whole lot more data than standard, gives you fuel flow numbers with the fuel sensor, and can be tied into your chartplotter to display engine data. 250s, it's o...

$17.5K IMO opinion is a fair price, as rigging will typically go $1500-$2K. Does that include the SMIS gauges?

Max HP on the 225 Explorer, since she's been around, is 300, which of course back then was in the form of twin 150s (300 HP motors didn't exist in '96, save for the old Johnson V-8). A single 300 Vrod, Yam, or Zuke is what you're looking at...

Wingtime, Thank you for the info. Does anyone have info on the foam blocked drain tubes? There's really not much "info", so to speak. The PVC drain tubes will most likely get blocked by a small piece of foam that was left in the hull when the boat got decked. The best thing you can do is ...

Another good thing today Bill...the alarm horn works fine...at least when there is a low oil situation in the tank on the powerhead. Wanted to see if she'd crank...keyed on...and there was a constant alarm. Knew I had removed a good bit of oil from the small tank on the motor (level was below the &q...
