I'm with Captain John, just glue it with 5200 to the gelcoat. If you were to use starboard an added negative is unnecessary height, leaving water below the pump.... and in an emergency more water in the bilge before the auto kicks on. Know you said quarter inch stock, but in the aft bilge you'll be ...

Yes that was a rough ride out, and the first couple of days were nasty looking too. 25K pounds a trip in the summer sounds like good money!

Great advice on the 5200, the only thing to add is wear thin latex disposable gloves and paint clothes. That stuff has a mind of its own, it gets EVERYWHERE.
