I've gone out 15 miles on my 200XF. So far about 15 or so with the 245 but I plan on taking it out further than that. I think beyond 15 you need to up your safety gear a notch or two. Such as an epirb or PLB as back up to a DSC equipped VHF, hand held VHF etc. All of this of course weather permittin...

If it was just a tach I'd say go for it. But since yours has all the system check in it I'd say that it is not worth the risk. You loose your overheat alarm and oil alarms.

A cat is a trade off just like any other hull. They are nice and stable at anchor so they don't roll much. They corner kinda weird since they don't roll into the turn in fact they lean OUT if you turn too sharply! The handle waves up to a point.. That point is when the waves are big enough to SLAM i...

My dad knew a guy that had various business cards printed up that he would leave on the window of peoples cars that had "inconsiderate" parking skills. Such things as "If you Fu$% like you park your never gonna get it in" and "Thanks for taking up two spots a$$hole thanks to...

That looks good and i don't see anything on there that is out of the ordinary. In fact I have seen similar verb-age on service contracts. The only thing I could see being a problem for SOME contractors is the 100% payment at the delivery. I personally require a 50% deposit with and order. This cover...

I went fishing on the 245 on Sunday and I met up with a buddy on his 22' Procat. Yeah that thing looks huge out of the water but they have to sit higher on the trailer. In the water it's not that big. I followed him out 15 miles offshore and I had to keep pulling the power back to keep from running ...

I think the main idea of the auto retract feature is so you don't forget the retract the tabs or so you or an experienced capt doesn't have to remember to retract them. If you add a switch to the panel you negate the purpose of the auto retract feature in my book... No no switch... heck as you said ...
