thats actually not the correct way to do it. the proper way to install fasteners into a wood deck, is to over size the holes and fill with a thickened resin mixture. let it cure and then pilot drill your holes for your fasteners. then 5200 or 4200 the screws and install. but your idea should slow do...

I went and got some core material and started getting things done. and then my back went out on me again. so next update will be a ways down the road. just as i was starting to make headway... so basically i got the deck cut to fit. then placed my fishbox and hatch gutter. after i did all that i lay...

Welcome to the club! that 86 would work but that still a 30 year old motor. i would be on the look out for something in the 90s or 2000s. unless your 85hp motor is done and your just looking for something to get on the water.
