Long over due but finally got the boat out today, I put my tabs down like normal to jump on plane and as I throttle up the boat hooks left hard sCo_hmmthink so I slow down and it seems only the port tab deployed, I raise it up and now get on plane without them.

Now that i'm going I start playing with the tabs and the port rocker switch is sticking in either position and I have to press the other way to un stick it.

I left it alone till I got back to the ramp and put the boat on the trailer, now the switch isn't sticking and according to my test light is getting power and I'm get a clicking sound when I push the switch in any direction back by the pump which is normal but nothing else like the motor has crapped out, what do you guys think

Scott I grabbed this from the Bennett owners manual..

If one trim tab operates and the other one does not:
• Inspect for disconnected or corroded red or green valve wire connections at
helm control and quick-disconnect plug. (Red wire operates port trim tab;
green wire operates starboard trim tab).
• Reverse hydraulic lines at front of HPU to determine if malfunction is in HPU
or actuator / hydraulic connections. If after reversing lines, symptom shifts
to other trim tab, malfunction may exist in HPU. If symptom remains on the
same side, malfunction may exist with the actuator/hydraulic connections.

Agree with Nando.. There should only be one ground so that is easy.. If there is a bunch of crap in the connectors and you are shoving you test lead in and hitting the ends it will check good. Same issue on my Yam trim switch. When I put it back together, nothing. After the 3rd time taking it apart and swearing at it, I guess I cleaned enough off the SIDES and she worked again. Damn bullet connectors... A little bronze or steel wool on a small cotter pin or double bent wire chucked up in a drill motor works for little tight spaces..

OR... Maybe the switch has an intermittent booger.....

FWIW,

I had an intermittent issue with the drivers side window controller of my F150. Drove me batshrit. sCo_hmmthink So after it really broke I got a new controller off of eBay and put it in.. Now with nothing to lose I took the factory one apart and of all things found a damn PINE NEEDLE between the contacts for the window and the sumbitch would move around so it wouldn't consistently stop the window unless it was either raining or snowing like a bastard.... Go figure!

Good luck sir!!

well if one tab is deploying and not the other I doubt it is the pump. Solenoid maybe? I agree with Fernando about checking ground first.

Thanks guy's, I went from one to none so the ground seems like the place to start, if the rain holds off tomorrow I'll dig into it and lets you know what I find.

I finally had time to check the ground tonight, ran a new temporary one and that's not the problem, however the connectors in the wire harness are locked closed, can't get the to disconnect so I think my next step is to cut them out and hard wire everything.

Dave between how bad the wires are and the research I've done I'm convinced the pump is shot, a good buddy of mine was able to hook me up with a new one at a pretty good price so I have one on order.

Guys. Hate to hijack.

I bought a 2001 205 Osprey two days ago and my trim tabs don't work.

Where is the pump located??? I have looked almost everywhere and haven't been able to find it.

Thanks

Update. Got the new pump and motor installed today, everything is wired up and working great again thanks to my good buddy and Bennett, you just can't find a better company to deal with.
