I am not sure what to call this thread but from time to time I get water in this spot as I soak it up with rags I see a plug. Can I remove the plug and let it go into the bilge?

I have no leaks on the boat this water is only from splashing and rain.

Are you the original owner? I ask since it looks like that hole was plugged after construction. Bruce and Scott (both explorer owners) will happen by shortly. They should be able to help you.. I am an Osprey owner so I cant weigh in on this one.

Different Explorer model Bruce. The 215 is a completely different animal than the 225/245/250 Series Explorers. The 215 cabin liner extends up under the cockpit floor a few feet. The slide you see is for the porta-potty.

OK I talked to my buddy who is a 215 Explorer owner. He said there should be a pvc pipe (about 3/4") in that hole. He said that if there is any water in the bilge and he comes off of a plane quick, the bilge water will rush into the cabin thru that drain hole. So he keeps a rubber plug in that drain to prevent that from happening. That is probably why the PO plugged it up..

Ahhh.. Makes sense. Would a drain with a right angle solve that problem allowing outward draining while preventing backflow?
