Hi all. I own a 1982 ccp 222 with a johnson 200. Looking foward to spending some time reading about others boats and picking up tips and tricks. Im a weekend warrior fishing offshore Ft.pierce and St. Lucie inlets. I spend more time in the driveway than offshore but i enjoy repairing/upgrading anything i can. Here are some pics. Btw i would like some info on closing the transom in without having to permanently attach it if its possible. ..just thinking out loud.

Welcome aboard!!

You could make a drop-in wave gate using off-white starboard, notch the bottom to go over your rigging tube. Slide it in from the top when you go offshore.

Scotty beat me to it. You can use starboard or make a gate using Coosa, Nida Core. Just make a channel for it to sit in and middle support. Might want to put a beam across your piece to keep it from bowing. That transom bracket will help a lot with keeping water out of the back.

Nice boat

Good thinking Kev, the composite will be lighter and stronger than the starboard and after it's glassed can be gelcoated to match. Channels on the verticals and the bottom horizontal and he's set.
