So... After having the boat for over 2 months and getting some must do items completed... Trailer brakes, bearings, guide posts... Bilge pumps, electrical work and lots of cleaning up in those areas... I still don't have the center console seat cushions and bolsters back but I got what I need working good enough to see how the engine runs after having replaced the plugs a fuel line (with the bulb) and lower unit oil... So I took it down to Markham park today (West Fort Lauderdale area) and dropped her in the water. She fired right up and after a slow idle down the canal checking for depth and debris I used the same one mile stretch to let her rip! She ran just fine! Big honkin' blue smoking two stroke 250 Johnson did not disappoint. sFun_crazydance Planed of quickly and topped out right at 40 MPH on the GPS. Maybe could get more with another prop but got out of the hole quick... Only thing I had issue with was the trim tabs... Lost power there somewhere in the wire re-work so will have to trouble shoot. Here's a few pics for your viewing pleasure!

Those numbers seem about right. What kind of WOT RPMS are you getting? You should be getting around 5600 RPMS

I see you have a Fusion radio, I have one in my 245. Great marine stereos.

The tach is a bit flakey... One time it was showing 6300rpm at WOT and the next time about 5500rpm... Either way the speed is about what I figured and maybe could get a bit more with the trim tabs (now working) set properly, enough room to find correct engine trim, a light chop and a tail wind! 45mph seems to be within reach! sHa_woot

Just out of curiosity what bolt hole is the top engine mount bolt in? It should be in the second from the top

BTW you will find the most efficient cruise for that hull to be around 28-30 mph and 4200 or so rpms.

You should be able to get 45 out of her with that 250, I can get 40 out of mine with a 200.

good to see you putting her in the water. its a bit difficult to find places to run around here, i could only imagine the looks of people on 75 gave you running that thing in there.

Ran it again today with speedo and trim tabs working.... Picture taken by my sister in law who was coming to meet me at the park with my brother... It ran great! Did tag about 45mph in the one mile stretch between bridges.

Still accelerating...
