Would anyone be interested in doing a trip to the Bahamas for a few days this year? Monday - Thursday or something?

If my boat was done, I'd be all over that. :1898_:

That's what I'm afraid of. Going over on a nice day, then having to hoof it back on a crappy day because you have to work the next one. Sure, you can do it, but it might take three hours of being absolutely miserable.

Then again though, how much did you all spend at the Scallopfest?

EDIT: Just did a quick calculation of going out of Harbour Towne in FTL. Basically, it's $948 for truck fuel, parking, boat fuel, oil, truck parking, $45/$50 night to park boat at Bimini, $150 to enter Bahamas with three total on boat under 30', etc. This doesn't include ice, drinks, food, bait, or anything, beside the bare essentials to physically get to the Bahamas. It would be a fun trip, but I think to make it worth it, you'd need a boat just under 30' to pay the $150 fee, and then like 4-6 people total to split all the costs. Not to mention, I'm not going over there without an EPIRB, and doing a few random things to my boat, like the power and ground blocks under the console, replacing the wearing out battery, and putting a new bilge pump in.

frick that. I'll go to Anclote.

Last time I made that trip, years ago it was flat calm on the way over and 8-10ft head sea the whole way back, we were in a 28 ft bertrum with a 11 ft beam and miserable doesn't even describe it, the other boat with us was a 23 dusky cuddy cabin, he said never again

You'd need to go there and stay several days, just for the expenditure alone.

Went there bonefishing two years back. Our experience was they'd half-smile when taking your money. But most stuck to themselves and ignored you.

In general they weren't a friendly bunch. Prices were high and poverty prevalent. Much of it looked like a war zone.

The politicians run the place.

Ideally you'd want a big sportfish with accommodations.
